It's been 8 years since the Earth Defense Force defeated the last threat - the Forina. Using the technologies left by these deadly foes, human civilization developed at a stunning speed. However, peace won't last, a new type of enemy is appearing from below the earth, and the EDF is commanded to head to war once again.
