The game follows the story of the protagonist Hachiman Hikigaya, a high school student who has a cynical outlook on life and has difficulty forming relationships with others. He is forced to join the school's Service Club, where he meets two other students, the cheerful Yui Yuigahama and the intelligent Yukino Yukinoshita. Together, they work to help their fellow classmates with their problems and discover more about themselves in the process.
