Iwaihime Matsuri is a psychological horror visual novel written by Ryukishi07, the creator of Higurashi When They Cry. The game blends everyday school life with creeping dread, gradually unraveling into a disturbing tale of fate, curses, and obsession.
Following the traditions of the Susuhara family, the protagonist leaves home upon coming of age and transfers into Susuda Prefectural High School, expecting a peaceful and independent life. Initially, school life in Class 2-A is carefree and enjoyable—except for one unsettling presence: Toe Kurokami.
Toe is a mysterious girl who never lets go of a strange Japanese doll rumored to be cursed, said to grow hair when no one is watching. Though dismissed as superstition, the protagonist soon realizes that his encounter with Toe was not coincidence, but inevitable fate—one that leads down a terrifying path.
